Accessibility
Accessibility at STELLAN.
We want the shop and the studio to feel welcoming to everyone, online as well as in person.
Being a good host is part of how we run STELLAN, and that extends to this website. We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a box to check.
What we have done
- Structured the site with clear, semantic headings and landmarks so it reads well with a screen reader.
- Written descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Made the site keyboard-navigable, with visible focus on links and buttons.
- Chosen text sizes and color contrast meant to stay comfortable to read.
- Built the layout to work on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never quite finished. We review the site as we add to it, and some third-party pieces, like the online shop, are provided by outside platforms whose accessibility we do not fully control. Where we can influence the experience, we do.
Tell us if something is hard to use
If you run into a barrier anywhere on the site, we want to hear about it, and we will help you get what you need in the meantime. Email hello@shopstellan.com or call the Portland shop at (207) 808-9783. Please tell us the page and what happened, and we will work to fix it.
